Hello there, sflaa1. I appreciate you for trying all the recommendations.

I got your point and see how important to get your question addressed in a secure and prompt manner.

In QuickBooks Online, the best way to reach our support team is to sign in to your account. In this instance, customer support would be very beneficial because they can look into your specific account in detail, see what's going on, and even screen share with you. Here's how to contact them:

  1. Within your QBO account, go to Help at the upper-right corner.
  2. In the Search tab, click Contact us.
  3. You'll be asked to enter a brief description of your concern.
  4. Click Continue
  5. Select Chat with us , Have us call you, or Call us

Still, I'd recommend checking the articles shared by my colleague above for reference when handling data on the QuickBooks reports.

Welcome to QuickBooks Community, sflaa1.

I'd love to help you with your concern, but may I know what are you trying to achieve about entering a budget for 2021? I would appreciate any details you can share to help me better understand your concern and provide an accurate solution.

In the meantime, here's an article to learn more about how the budget works in QuickBooks Online (QBO): Create and import budgets into QuickBooks Online.

You might also want to check out our Help Articles to help you with the tasks and tips when using QBO.

I'll keep an eye out for your response. Any additional information will do. Take care and have a good one!

I have entered our budget for 2021 in the budgeting function. When running a P

Hi Charies_M

Our company uses 3 locations in a single QBO installation.  I have created the budget for 2021 for each of the 3 locations and have given them 3 distinct "names".  When I run a P&L for one of the locations, using the 2021 budget for that location, the P&L pulls in the actual results, but does not pull in the budget amounts.  I have tried this for each of the 3 locations, and the same result.  We did the same process in 2020 and it worked fine, so I don't understand why it does not work for 2021.  There must be something that I am missing..

Thanks for your help.  sflaa1

Hi Charies_M,

I replied to this, but it appears it didn't go through.  Sorry if this is a duplication.  Our company uses 3 locations within a single installation of QBO.  I have entered a budget for each location for 2021 and given each a distinct name.  When I run a P&L vs budget for Jan 2021, the report does not pull in the budget numbers for any of the 3 locations.  We did the same process in 2020 and there was no problem with budget amounts showing.  So I don't understand why it is not working for 2021.  I must be missing something.

Thanks for your help.  sflaa1

Hi there, sflaa1.

You'll want to pull up the Budget vs. Actuals report. This will show your actual income and expenses compared to your budgeted amounts. You can search the said report in the Reports tab.

I've added some links you can check. These will show you to use the budgeting feature:

I have entered our budget for 2021 in the budgeting function. When running a P

Hi AlexV

Thank you for your response, but this does not solve my issue.  The report you referenced does not allow me to filter by location.  I must be able to do this.  I already have created customized reports for each of the 3 locations.  Those reports worked as expected in 2020, but in 2021 they no longer pull in the budget that I have determined in the report.  This makes no sense - Which year is being reported on should have no effect on pulling in the budget information.  I think I am going to need to request a call back and use smart view with agent so that they can see what I'm talking about and avoid a lot of back and forth.

Thanks,  sflaa1
