I have marked a sub invoice as billable. Why am I no longer prompted with a "suggestion" box to link that sub invoice to the invoice I am generating?

Let's get you back on track to invoicing your customers, Dawn.

If QuickBooks doesn't automatically prompt you with the billable expense in the right panel, let's check the Suggestions section. Follow the steps below to reach the Suggested transactions page.

  1. On the Invoice page, click Manage.
  2. Go to the Suggestions section.
  3. Click Suggested transactions.

If the menu isn't visible on your end, you'll need to go through some troubleshooting steps to isolate a browser-related cause. To do this, open your QuickBooks Online account in a private browser and check if the suggested transactions appear. If they do, you'll need to clear the cache of your regular browser. You can also use other supported browsers.

If the suggested transactions still don't appear after troubleshooting cache-related issues, I recommend checking the details of your billable expense and invoice to ensure they're linked together.

Tried incognito, cleared cache, still no suggestion box with the expense I need linked to the invoice.  I just don't get it.  It works sometimes and doesn't other times, and I spend a ridiculous amount of time trying to figure out a work-around.

I guess I can delete the invoice I want the expense linked to and recreate it, but I should not have to go thru all of that trouble.  So many glitches lately.  I just don't get it.
