I'm entering a new transaction in expenses and the date is missing?

A warm welcome to the Community, jerome5. Allow me to share some details regarding the date field under the category details.

Entering an expense transaction with a service date under the category details is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Online. You can only see the date when recording sales.

As a workaround, you can enter the date on the Description field when recording new expense transactions. See the sample screenshot below.

I know how important it is to have control over your expenses in QuickBooks Online by adding a date under the category details. While this option isn’t currently in our development roadmap, in the meantime, I'd encourage you to visit our QuickBooks Blog site for product updates as well as business tips from our accountant.

To help you manage your expenses in QuickBooks, you can take a look at this article: Enter and manage expenses in QuickBooks Online. This will provide you steps on how to review your transactions as well as reports you can pull up to track them.

Let me know if there's anything else you need. I'm always here to provide additional assistance if you have any follow-up questions about expenses or QuickBooks. Just leave a comment below. Have a good one.
