I need to adjust our budget and reporting for fiscal year change...

I need to adjust our budget and reporting either to 13-months or use a one-month fiscal year; this is to reset our fiscal year from starting July 1st to now starting August 1st.     How can I do either of these in Quickbooks Desktop?

I need to adjust our budget and reporting for fiscal year change...

I found out how to do this by contacting Quickbooks Chat Support.

1) back up file before changing fiscal year

2) Change the first month of the fiscal year

In my situation, since I am changing from July to August, I will wait until July is fully posted and reconciled, then change the start date to August.   I can still access July through custom dates in reports.   Then my new fiscal will be August to July.    In order to show leadership the 13-month year, I can create an excel spreadsheet for the 13-months, with July reports and new fiscal reports added together.
