thank you Sarahann. your instructions were right on and jogged my memory as to what I had done before. the only other thing I would like to include on the vender report is a total figure of all the vendor transactions at the bottom. I didn't see any way to do this and maybe this is not possible?

Allow me to step in and share information about the report in QuickBooks Online.
Currently, adding the total amount at the bottom of the Transaction List by Vendor report is unavailable. As a workaround, I suggest exporting the report to Excel and add the extra details manually (see screenshot below).
