I’ve got some information for you about invoice payment, Claudia.

At this moment, restricting customers from making partial payments isn’t possible. When your customer pays the invoice online, they’ll have the ability to edit the original amount and pay it partially.

I can see how this option helps your business. You can send this idea through your QuickBooks Online company so our Product Development team can take action to help improve your experience. I’m glad to show you the steps.

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then select Feedback.
  2. Enter your suggestions, then select Next.
  3. Press Send message.

You can track feature requests through the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website.

Good day, @mcmc2.

I understand the need to disable the feature to edit the amount your customers can pay. This way, they need to pay the whole invoice charge. I'll route you to the department where you can submit a feature request.

I can see how receiving complete payments benefit your business. Since it's unavailable, I recommend sharing this idea with our Product Development Team. They will review and consider them for future updates depending on the number of users' requests. Please know that we're unable to provide a timeline for its implementation.

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under the Profile column, select Feedback.
  3. Share your suggestion, then click Next.

You'll want to track your suggestion through this website. You can also visit our blog to keep up with recent events and developments.

See this article for the steps to record payments according to your situation: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online. It can be a partial payment or a grouping of multiple ones.

To personalize and enhance your sales form, refer to this guide: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

We value your ideas and look for more ways to improve your QuickBooks experience. I'm always here if you need assistance with other QuickBooks tasks. Have a great day.

I cant believe quicbooks wont let a business owner take that setting off. So I have to micro manage all of my invoices because the customer can basically pay what ever they want. Well I'll be searching for another company to deal with. This is insane that the customer can edit the invoice price.

I cant believe QuickBooks would allow the customer to be able to edit our invoices. My first few invoices sent I already have a clue changing the price on me. So now I have to micro mange QuickBooks. Well I'll be cancelling my QuickBooks soon as I figure another way of sending invoices. How in their right mind would think to allow a customer the ability to make up their own price...this is insane.
