My client wants to be able to see what items (with qtys) are on their floor for any given customer.
I believe the first step is to have the Customer/Job field filled in every time a purchase is made. But I can't find a report that will give me the information I'm looking for.
Any ideas?
Hello there, @Hally.
I have information about a report in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) that you can use. This report provides details on the total quantities and specific items purchased by customers. Let me walk you through the process:
You may want to check out this article if you want the same settings of the customized report to be available for future use: Create, access and modify memorized reports.

Hello,
Thank you for your reply. However, it does not answer the question I'm asking.
I am not looking for the number of items purchased. I am looking for the number of items currently in stock, by customer.
My client acts as a warehouse for its customers. It orders products in bulk, and stores them in its warehouse. When its customers are ready to receive items, they place an order from my customer.
We do not currently fill in the Customer/Job field when ordering products, but it's my belief that we should start doing that. Then, those transactions, combined with the invoices generated for customers, should give quantities in stock by customer. I can't find a report that does that.
Being able to also see items on Purchase Order & Sales Order would be great as well.
Thanks.

If you need a hand managing other reports, I'll add this article as a guide: Understand reports.
After managing your reports, I'll include this guide if you need to reconcile your accounts: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Desktop.
In QBDT, we can export reports to Excel as workbooks, CSV spreadsheets, or PDFs. This way, we'll have the flexibility to add information relevant to your business needs.
