Scenario:

- Purchase "Wax" and "Wicks" from 2 separate vendors and add to inventory.

- Use "Wax" and "Wicks" to produce "Candles".

 

Questions:

- How do I deplete "Wax" and "Wicks" inventory based on usage?

- How do I increase "Candles" inventory based on production?

- How can the COGS for "Candles" be determined upon invoicing a sale for "Candles"?

Inventory Management

QBO doesn't offer any assembly feature. You will need to have a 3rd party manufacturing app to integrate with QBO. Another option, the feature is available on QB Desktop Premier and Enterprise. If you are working solo, you can use the trial version for good with a workaround.

We can understand the importance of managing inventory assembly in our program. However, we agree with Fiat Lux - ASIA that building an Inventory Assembly Item is unavailable in QBO but is available in QuickBooks Desktop. 

 

You may consider using a third-party application in creating assembly and item group transactions. You can search for applications through the Apps menu of your QBO, then click the Find Apps tab. You can also look here in our QuickBooks Online App Store.
