Inventory Reports Do not show memo info entered on inventory adjustments

We input VIN number in the memo of the adjustments So what can I do to get that info to show instead of the canned Quickbooks part number inventory adjustment printing - which we do not want and could care less.  We need to see those VIN numbers in our reports.  What good is having a memo line on an inventory adjustment if QB will not let us show it on reports?

Inventory Reports Do not show memo info entered on inventory adjustments

Hello, ksafinsvc1.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. Let me share some insight about the memo in inventory reports. The memo line in inventory reports shows the adjustment of the product you've made. Don't worry, I have a workaround to get the data in the memo line you needed in the inventory adjustment you have made.

We can export the report to excel. From there, you can manually enter the details in the memo line. To export here's how to do it:

  1. Click Reports, then select Inventory evaluation details report.
  2. Press Customize Report
  3. On the Display, mark check the memo
  4. Under Filter, search memo and click OK
  5. Drop-down arrow under Excel, and choose Update existing worksheet.
  6. Choose create a comma separated values. (.csv)file
  7. Tap Export.
  8. Save the File name.

Once done, open the file and from there modify the memo line you'd like to appear.

Inventory Reports Do not show memo info entered on inventory adjustments

Are saying I can export the Memo info column  and drop it into the excel file?  Will that work? If so I will try it.

However if you mean Manual data entry into the excel file  that is DUAL work and not realistic for a client with a large number of inventory items especially when we entered the VIN number in the memo of the inventory adjustment and purchase receipt already and now you want us to manually enter it again?  Unacceptable workaround.

This is a trailer/rv sales lot - They need VIN number on each item for inventory purposes and sales purpose due to DMV laws.
