Is anybody else having problems accessing vendors in QB online?

Greetings, everyone. I want to acknowledge the challenges you've been encountering with accessing vendors and vendor transactions in QuickBooks Online. It can be incredibly frustrating when an essential part of your business, such as managing vendors, is not working as expected. I understand the difficulties and the impact this may have on your operations. No worries, I'm here to provide assistance and support to resolve this issue. Let's work together to go through some troubleshooting steps, so we can pinpoint the issue and restore seamless vendor management for your business.

First off, did you encounter any error messages? If so, I'd like to ask for any additional information as this will help me look into this issue based on your specific issue and be able to provide an appropriate solution. I would appreciate any further details.

While waiting for your reply, let's log in to your accounts using incognito mode. Whenever you visit a website, it saves some information from the web page in its cache and cookies. These files allow the websites you visit most often to load faster and too much of these can affect its performance.

Here's how to access incognito mode in some of the most commonly used web browsers:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Option + P

If you're able to view your vendors and their transactions, it's safe to say that it's being caused by the browser. It can be fixed by clearing your cache and cookies. In the event it continues occurring while using incognito, you'll initially have to try switching to another browsing application.
Here's a list of supported browsers:

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Safari 11 or newer

Additionally. I have included an article that may be helpful to you in managing your vendors in QuickBooks. It offers step-by-step procedures for adding and making your vendors inactive: Add a vendor in QuickBooks Online

Please feel free to visit again if you have any further concerns regarding your vendors. I would be more than happy to assist you once again. Keep safe and have a good one.

In this case the standard "clear your browser" didn't seem to be the issue.  I tried incognito, cleared cache and history, used another browser, and tried another computer.  The issue occurred across all attempts.  It seems to have been cleared up following an extended period of "glitchiness" where vendors would load, then transactions, but very slowly.

Hey there, @Foo Lin

Thanks for stopping by on this thread and expressing your concern about accessing your vendors.

Since none of the steps helped you regain access to your vendors, then I recommend contacting our Customer Support Team for further assistance. They'll be able to look on the back end and see if there are any investigations with this problem. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help (?) icon in the top right-hand corner.
  2. Press the Contact Us button/hyperlink.
  3. Give a brief description of your issue and what you've tried to do to resolve it with us. Tap Let's talk
  4. Scroll down and select to Get a callback.

It's that easy!

Keep us updated on how the call goes. It's my priority that you're able to review your vendors and their information so that you can keep running your business. Have a great day!

I am having the same issue but on the mobile app. When I create an expense and click on the window that states who I paid, there is no vendors available, only customers, but if I create a new vendor it says that vendor already exists, and tells me to change the name. It always worked in the past. I have been having this issue for about a month. It works on my desktop, just not the app on my phone.

Thanks for joining this thread, WaterPollutionControlLLC.

I want to make sure you're able to select vendors when creating expenses in your QuickBooks Online Mobile app.

As an initial troubleshooting step I recommend refreshing the app data. This can be done in just a few steps. Here's how:

1. Go to Menu ☰ and tap Help & Feedback.
2. Tap Refresh Data.
Note: A message appears “Caution. If there was a problem getting your latest QuickBooks Online data, you can refresh it now. It may take a few minutes.”
3. Tap Refresh to confirm.

The following article provides additional info as well as similar steps for Android phones: See your latest data in the QuickBooks Online app

Please give this a try and see if you're able to select vendors afterward. I'm only a comment or post away if you have any other questions.

@WaterPollutionControlLLC

If you always on mobile and using iOS device, consider having a free Melio app to integrate with QBO. You can create new vendors/contractors and schedule the payments on the go.

You can also get $100 as cashback to pay the first bill.

Morgan,

I did find the refresh data under the "Vendors" list and refreshed the data and this did fix the issue. I would have thought this would be done automatically from time to time but I guess this doesn't happen. Thank you very much for your help.
