Join nowGood day, willie-lin!
I would like to help you figure out this. However, I cannot tell if the expense you've paid for a team bonding event or retreat is taxable or not. I would recommend reaching out to your accountant to figure out on this matter.
Though I can guide you on how to record it, you can go to the +New tab and select Expense under Vendor. Under the Category column, select an expense account and enter the amount on it and other details. Once done, click Save and Close.
You'll want to check this article. It talks about recording expenses in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
You can get back to me anytime you need other help. I'll assist you as soon as I can. Take care!
Thanks for your reply SarahannC. Perhaps I will record all team event, retreats' related expense under one category, separate from other expense for now. :)
There is an account that QB usually sets up and would appear near the bottom of your COA called "Ask My Accountant" where you can post questionable expenditures. Then your accountant will have them all in one spot to review.
@SarahannC is correct, we do not give tax advice here. QB is accounting software, not tax software. The tax codes change monthly it sometimes seems and what might have been deductible one year is not the next. You could try asking your question at TurboTax if you do not have an accountant.
