Is it possible to archive projects and if so how?

I’m glad to assist you today, @marketing.

At the moment, the option to archive projects in QuickBooks Online is unavailable. You may consider exporting them to Excel for documentation and future use.

Here’s how:

  1. Select the Projects menu from your left navigation pane.
  2. Click the customer or project
  3. Choose the information you need to keep.
  4. Select the Export to Excel button.

I have here a reference that tackles projects in QBO. Check it out to learn more about what other things you can do with it.

I’ll be here anytime if you need more help with projects. Just drop a comment below, and I’ll make sure it’ll be taken care of. Have a great day!

Thanks for following up on this feature, @LizBerm0711.

Archiving projects in QuickBooks is a fantastic idea that will significantly benefit our customers. The option to archive projects in QuickBooks Online is still unavailable. I'd suggest sending feedback to our product engineers. This allows them to review your suggestion and include it in future updates.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon on the upper right side.
  2. Select Feedback
  3. Type your comments in the box and click Next

Furthermore, QuickBooks has a website where users can vote on new feature suggestions and feedback. Visit this link to get to the page: Customer Feedback for QuickBooks.

Feel free to read through these articles below to learn how to track labor costs, and add paid and unpaid invoices to project in QuickBooks:

Not only would this be a useful feature, it is a LEGAL requirement. Has nobody from Intuit heard of GDPR?

It is illegal to retain personal data for longer than is justified according to the legal basis of processing. In most cases therefore, users MUST export and destroy or anonymize records containing personal data after they are no longer needed for fiscal/tax reasons.

I've learned it is not worth making suggestions to Intuit. This product is never updated with anything meaningful. Projects are a very half-baked feature in QBO and continue to cause problems for us.
