Is it possible to change the date of a paid invoice? I marked the invoice as paid a few days later than I actually received it.

Hello there, psmontoto.

In QuickBooks Self-Employed, changing the paid status or date of a paid invoice is unavailable. As a workaround, you may want to edit the invoice and enter the date when you have received the payment. You can use the Note to Customer field to enter the correct period of payment. Here's how:

  1. Go to Invoices on the left panel.
  2. Click the drop-down arrow next to View. Then, select Edit.
  3. Enter the date when you received the payment.
  4. Then, Save.

One more thing that you can try is to delete and recreate the invoice. This helps you can mark the invoice as paid again on the right date. This process can be done when you accidentally mark it as paid but haven't received the payment yet.

You guys make QuickBooks Self-employed almost unusable! I don't understand why you can't do simple tasks, like changing the date money has been received or changing how much someone is paid. It's ridiculous and really makes me want to just stop using it!
