Is there a way to export customer list in hierarchial view?

Welcome and thank you for posting here in the Community, @Phil Chase.

Allow me to help share information about exporting customer list in hierarchical view.

We can export customer list from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), however, we don't have the option to export the list in Hierarchical View. You may need to sort the exported list manually.

I want to ensure customers like you are having the best possible experience while working with QuickBooks. Since the option of exporting customer list in hierarchical view is not available as of the moment, I suggest sending feedback straight to our product engineers to be considered in the future updates.

To send you feedback.

  1. In the QuickBooks homepage, click the Help menu.
  2. Select Send Feedback Online.
  3. Click on Product Suggestion.

To learn more about exporting reports, you may check this article: Export report from QuickBooks Desktop to Microsoft Excel.

Let me know if you have any other questions about exporting customer list, I'm always here to help you. Have a good one!

Do you mean just as the customer list is displayed with an indent,  or do you mean seeing the Customer:Job in one field on each Job record?

Is there a way to export customer list in hierarchial view?

Is there no way still to export the customers with hierarchy?

Nor the chart of accounts with hierarchy as well?
I guess I'll have to use the ":" to split

Jumping in to provide an answer to your question about exporting data, Daniel.

The option to export the customer list and Chart of Accounts in hierarchical view is still not available. You'll want to continue using the : mark to split the data after exporting the file to Excel.

I also suggest providing feedback to our product engineers regarding this matter. Many of the new features and product enhancements are inspired by the valuable suggestions we receive from customers like you.

Here's how to send feedback inside QuickBooks:

  1. Go to the Help menu, look for Send Feedback Online, and then click Product Suggestion.
  2. Type in your feedback and click Send Feedback
