Let me help you look for the categorized transactions without attached receipts.
We'll need to go to the Chart of accounts and look for the Bank account where you categorized the transactions that have no receipt attached. Here's how:

How can I find this on the Desktop version? I need to track missing receipts.
I have some information to share with you regarding how to track missing receipts in QuickBooks Desktop, SaraSkittles.
QBO and QBDT have unique platforms. So, they offer different transaction features. To address your concern, you'll need to manually check the transaction and confirm if there's a receipt attached to it. See the screenshot for reference.
Also, you can check out the attached folder for your uploaded receipt. It is in the same location where you saved your company file. To help you upload your other receipts in QuickBooks, see this article: Upload receipts to QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus, Premier Plus, or Enterprise.
Additionally, I have included some articles that can assist you in managing bank entries within the system.
If you have questions or concerns about tracking receipts in QBDT, please let me know. I want to ensure everything is in order for you. Stay safe.
Yes I know how to check each transaction for attachments individually, here are the scenarios I'm having issues with... I use bank feeds to download over 1200 card transactions (in a slow month), then "add" (code) the physical receipts our employees submit through the QB Desktop app in the receipt management section. Then I "confirm" all matched transactions from the bank feed. I can find a list of remaining transactions that have not been matched in the bank feed, but I cannot download that list to send to each cardholder. We pull all cards to the same card/account#, so I have been downloading an excel file from our bank that shows the cardholder breakdown, and manually mark each transaction as missing, but this is a lot of manual work.
I would love to be able to download the remaining bank feed list as a "missing receipt list" instead... OR... Code all transactions from the bank feed first, then match them from receipt management, and pull a list from the credit card account that shows all coded transactions missing attachments, like mentioned in the online version.
(Unrelated side note: I have sent a lot of bug reports and product suggestion reports for receipt management, it is not very user friendly.)
Thank you!
I appreciate you returning to the thread, @SaraSkittles.
Although there's no direct way to pull up a list of the transactions with missing attachments from the bank feed, you can consider generating a report for the uncleared transactions that weren't matched yet. Let me provide details on doing this in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
You can run the Transaction Detail by Account report. This report will display all recorded transactions, and you can filter it to show only the uncleared transactions that weren't matched from each of your cardholders in your credit card account. Here's how:
However, I recognize that it's important that the software accommodates various business needs. I'd still encourage sending your suggestion to our Product Engineers to implement the function of generating lists from the bank feed in future updates.
If you want to schedule reports on a regular and recurring scheduled time, you can refer to this article as a guide: Set up and modify Scheduled Reports.

Thank you, this could definitely work for my needs however, while filtering the bank feed transactions to "add" specific groups of vendor transactions without receipts (about 2 or 3 group "adds" later), it mysteriously added all transactions without warning. This has happened several times, even while checking the "add" list very carefully, which is another error and product function I cannot utilize. I will have to add them all individually next time to be able to test this report, because they all show as cleared now. I have submitted several product suggestions and bug fixes for these issues. I do appreciate your help though, I will have to test this after my next bank sync. Thank you.
I just tested this theory and it does not work because the transactions show as cleared the second I code them from the bank feed. The only transactions that are not cleared are the physical receipts I coded from receipt management. This is backwards. I need the receipt to show as cleared once matched with the bank feed transactions so I can pull a report. Otherwise it leaves the remaining unmatched transactions hanging in the bank feed unable to be pulled into a report. Any other suggestions or settings I could use to change the cleared status or pull a different report?
I appreciate you getting back to the thread regarding changing the status of transactions in QuickBooks. I understand your concern, and I'm here to assist you with it.
If these are downloaded transactions, altering the status of these transactions might not be possible because they were already cleared when QuickBooks downloaded these transactions.
On the other hand, if you need to review the details of these transactions or generate a report for your records, I recommend pulling up the Custom Transaction Detail Report in QuickBooks. Here's how:
