Glad to have you in the QuickBooks Community, whitehall.

While QuickBooks Online (QBO) doesn't yet have an autosave feature that saves your work in real-time as you create or modify estimates and invoices, you can regularly save any changes to your estimates or invoices. I'm here to discuss this in more detail.

The way to ensure your progress isn't lost when creating invoices and estimates is by clicking the Save button regularly. This way, even after a session timeout, you can continue adding or modifying information from the time you left off when you created the invoices or estimates. Here's how:

  1. After entering information to your invoice or estimate, click the dropdown arrow beside the Save and new option.
  2. Select Save.

  3. When you're ready to save and close the invoice or estimate, choose Save and close (or Save and new).

Your experience highlights where the software needs to improve, specifically the need for an auto-save functionality when creating invoices or estimates. I encourage sending your feedback to our product engineers to consider adding this functionality in the future.

  1. In your QBO account, go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Enter your comments or product suggestions.

If you need to customize your invoices or estimates after this, I'm adding this article as a future reference: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

We'll be here in the Community if you have further questions about managing invoices or estimates in QBO. We'll do our best to assist. Take care!
