Happy Tuesday, @info706. Welcome to the Community.
At this time, there's not a way to bring the image to each line on the invoice. I'm going to submit feedback to our Development Team about adding this feature to the product. In the meantime, you can use the Attachments option at the bottom of the invoice to include the pictures of the product.
The Community will have the best solutions for your QuickBooks needs. If you have any other questions or concerns, please let me know in the comments. Have a great day.
So what is the purpose of the image section in the Products and Services list section if not to show up on the invoices (see attached screenshot)?
Hello there, @jjp2.
The image column allows you to identify what item displays on the Products and Services page.
On the invoice, the line item only shows the details of the item. As a workaround mention by my colleague, you can use the attachments option to add images on it.
You can visit our blog site to explore some resources on managing your invoices in QuickBooks: The QuickBooks Blog.
Please tag me directly if you have additional questions. I'm always here to help you.
Fair enough, I would second the ability to have images on the invoices as a nice-to-have feature; definitely not a major priority.
Thanks for getting back to us, @jjp2.
Thank you for your feedback. We take it seriously, as it helps us grow and overall create a better product. I'll go ahead and pass it along to our Product Engineering Team for further review.
You can refer back to the blog link provided by my colleague above to keep an eye out on future feature updates.
Let me know if you have any other questions. I'm here to ensure your success. Have a wonderful day!
Add my vote to broader usage of the product image throughout QBO functionality. Including it on the customer's estimate and invoice seems so intuitive, it's hard to believe the ONLY place it shows is on a product list. Doesn't even display as part of the dropdown Product/Services suggestions, which I had thought might help our customer service staff be assured they were selecting the right version of our multiple products.
And the workaround of using attachments really isn't a practical solve by any means. There is no way to search the list of attachments and the only filter is Unlinked or All. It might be workable if we could filter by product category, but as it stands -- BLECH.
So if the only functionality of the product image is another column on the product list, I'll pass on all that uploading. It's a shame, because it seems like there's potential for SO much more.
We want this feature, too.
This is a needed feature as I purchase Koi and the invoices I get have the picture of the koi I have purchased and need this for my business. If this is not offered I will then need to see what these other companies use for their books. I know this is possible as I have stated I have received invoices and sales orders that have pictures on each line item. My customer's purchase several koi and the descriptions can be identical but the picture of the koi are different. The attachment when I go to view to print does not show the picture I have added and looks to be the only way you see the picture is if you email it to the customer but I need to print and hand to customer. Do you have any updates at this time? I have just received my swipe machine and if this is not something the Quickbooks can update I will need to find a different program. I have used QB ever since it was Quicken back in the 80's so have been a loyal user for years. Thank you.
We always value long time customers like you, HMK2020.
At the moment, we're unable to get updates about the product images. Though this option might be added in the future. You can visit our QuickBooks Blog to see the newly added features.
In the meantime, you'll want to go to the App Center and look for a third-party application that has the ability to add item pictures on your invoices.
You can always add a comment if you have any follow-up questions regarding QuickBooks Online. I'm here to help.
Wow, the solution they suggested is to go to the QB App Center and search for a program that can integrate the pictures into your invoices. I have an idea: SUGGEST WHICH APPS QUICKBOOKS CAN DO THIS WITH, INSTEAD OF JUST TELLING US TO GO SEARCH FOR ONE.
Having the ability to show photos next to products would help my client relations so much! Then they wouldn't have to reference a design to remember what products they are purchasing from me. We need this!
I too have been asking for two years on this feature. Please help. We are in the hardware business and people are more visual these days. Adding an attachment is not very efficient when you have multiple items to sell. We love using quickbooks but will have to switch over to another software system if quickbooks can't offer this option. I have seen plumbing, lighting, and audio/video companies used by our clients that have estimating programs that offers this feature. It is 2020 please get with it!
This is not the experience we desire you to feel, @tandlforest.
Right now, attaching an image per item in the invoice is still unavailable. I can see how this feature would be helpful for your business, that's why I'll also take note of this idea.
Also, I'd encourage you to send your thoughts about this to our product developers since this feature is essential for your business. Here's how:
Please visit our blog frequently to know our new enhancements.
In the meantime, you can use the Attachments feature and the third party app as what my colleagues presented above.
Also, please browse these articles below about the various updates in the product and the How Do I questions.
You can always tag me if you have other questions. I'm glad to assist.
THIS FEATURE REALLY NEEDS TO GET IMPLEMENTED. Simply attaching the image to the email as you currently have it does not work for my estimates/proposals. My proposals would be streamlined if you had this function. I am forced to use a different software program that has this feature.
Customers really want to see what they are purchasing on Estimates/Quotes. Come on QuickBooks it's time to step it up. The images are already there, it shouldn't take much programming/developing to add this feature. It appears that this has been a request for two years.
Hi
This feature is an absolute necessity in today's business environment - everything is about visual....
After spending hours uploading the photos only to find its an ABSOLUTE WASTE OF TIME! (500 images!!!!!)
This along with no field for Barcodes in the Inventory item is quite honestly a MAJOR FLAW in QBO.
The idea of attaching an image is moot when you have 30 items on an estimate / quotation.
QBO please allow the field to be accessed via Custom Estimate Templates if you don't want to add features that complicate other integrations. - Please don't ask me to submit this to your support team because that is an absolute waste of time - QBO has been asked to implement this for 2 years now and it is your standard answer
Kind regards
Graham Hogg
I do bookkeeping for several visual artists, photographers and galleries. They all end up making their invoices in another program because it is ESSENTIAL to have an image of the artwork on the invoice. Then I have to manually enter each invoice into Quickbooks, which is unnecessarily time consuming. Inevitably there are issues with the invoices they make in another program, often sales tax isn't calculated properly or they use the wrong invoice number. I got so excited when I noticed that it was possible to add images to Products in QBO. Finally we could make and send invoices from QBO! What a letdown to find that these images do not appear on invoices. Please add this feature.
Intuit is leaving a lot of money on the table, because if these clients could send invoices directly from QBO, they would also be receiving payments via QBO. Think of all those payment processing fees. If you don't do it to make your customers happy, please do it for the money!
Hello there, @SquareTriangle.
I can see the importance of adding images to your invoices. You may add the product image manually in the invoice. There's a section on the lower-left where you can attach the image up to 20MB in size. I've added a screenshot for your reference:
However, if you're referring to add the image on each product line, this would be a great idea and I'd recommend sending feedback to our Product developer team. They may include this option in future enhancements. This is where you can send feedback:
I've included this article to show you what are the other transactions where you can attach images: Attachments in QuickBooks Online.
I'll be around if you have other questions or concerns. Feel free to let me know in the comment section. I'd be happy to answer them.
I'm adding my vote to please include this option. I can't seem to submit via the "feedback" option, as the popup comes up blank on my screen. This feature is needed and important to many businesses.
Hi, TamaraO.
I completely understand how convenient to have this option in QuickBooks Online. Please know that we always take our customer's goals.
I recommend sending feedback to our Product Development Team to help improve your QuickBooks experience.
Here's how to do it:
Just in case the steps above won't work you can directly for to the Customer Feedback website to send your concerns.
Let me know if you have other concerns in customizing the invoice. I'm always here to help.
Same here, it's a bit perplexing that the images aren't able to be added as a column item to the estimates and invoices. Just as they appear when viewing the products list. PLEASE add this feature!
Ive been asking for this feature since we joined QBO 5 years ago. I've kept adding product images in the hope that one day they'll listen to us but I'm giving up hope. Currently having to use 3rd party quoting software (and paying a monthly charge for it) for something that would take a good developer less than a week to implement. :(
I would third the request to add the ability to include images on invoices and estimates. We're often asked for this to be included in our estimates and have no ability to do this easily, unless we want to individually attach images in the email, which is ridiculously time consuming. I have seen an estimate from an outside company and they had images tacked on to each item in their invoice. I was very impressed. To me, for my specific business, this is very important. Please add this feature.
What 3rd party quoting software are you using? Looking to have this feature but have been unable to locate something that would work.
