I have Customers that have multiple jobs. I want to be able to have a list of all jobs in numerical order. When I go to Customer center the list is sorted by Customer then Job under Customer. I am looking for a list based on job number? Basically a job log. Ideally I would click on that job number and have the job information available.
I tried adding a job description column but I can't sort based on that other than within the customer. Simple example of what I am looking for:
21-01 - Joes plumbing
21-02 - Bills plumbing
21-03 - Joes plumbing
21-04 - Jacks heating
It's good to see you here again in the Community, @donloew.
I'll walk you through on how you can create a job log report for your customers.
You're doing it right. You'll need to click on the job number so the job information will show up. This way, you can log the details to a spreadsheet (Excel) and be able to get your desired data.
Know that the system only displays job number and names on the Customer Center's list.

Are you telling me my request is not possible? I do not see where you have answered my question. I am aware customizable reports and do not see the option to generate a list of jobs based on job name. I am also aware of the feedback option. Neither answer my question.
I appreciate you getting back to us, donloew.

Has anyone figured out the job list by job name/number question? This has totally wrecked my transition to QBs: My team uses TSheets and we need everything by job number/name. I do have the new jobs entered in to QBs as Number/Name and it shows up ok in TSheets but running a report in QBs is a nightmare. Downloading to Excel gives me a format that has to be reworked so that I can sort by job. The last months unbilled hours by job took me an hour to sort. If anyone has suggestions-much appreciated.
I appreciate you following up about the job list by job name question in QuickBooks, @jnagele. I'd be pleased to help share insight about this so you can run reports seamlessly.
I understand the importance of being able to sort the job list by job report. For now, you may download the report through an Excel file to modify the hours and other details you want to sort.
