Loan Manager not working

I got a new computer earlier this year and I am guessing I lost something when I restored my QB file onto this computer from my previous. I noticed today that my loan manager doesn't have my auto loan in it anymore. I googled the issue and went into my file and changed the name to oldlmr.old and went to the restored folder and copied that file into the location where my company file is. The name of my company file is KS Custom Builders LLC.QBW and the name of the LMR file is KS Custom Builders LLC.LMR. I didn't change the names of any of these files, but when I try and open up the loan manager in QB, I get an error "QuickBooks cannot load the Loan Manager data because the file was renamed and it is no longer compatible with this QuickBooks company file. Rename the Loan Manager file to its original name, Titan Property Services LLC.lmr. My company used to be named Titan Property Services LLC a couple years ago, but I changed the QB file name and the LMR previously and had been using the Loan Manager with the KS Custom Builders LLC file on my previous computer without issues, so not sure what the issue is now. If I change the name like the error message says to, the Loan Manager opens with no loans in it and the QB Company File just creates a new blank LMR file. Any ideas?

Loan Manager not working

Thanks for the in-depth details of the troubleshooting you've done to fix it, KSCB.

It's possible the Loan Manager (.lmr) files are missing when moving the company file into your new computer. Aside from creating a backup copy and restoring the file, let's try using the Migrator Tool. This way, the tool will download the correct version of QuickBooks to your new computer and sets it up with your files.

Just follow the steps and details in this article: Move or reinstall QuickBooks Desktop to another computer. Then, go to How to set up and use the Migrator Tool section.

You can also check out this article for other troubleshooting options: Loan Manager or Cash Flow Projector is missing after upgrading QuickBooks Desktop.

To learn more about how the loan manager works in the software, just refer to the QuickBooks Loan Manager article.

Loan Manager not working

Thanks for the reply.  I figured out the issue actually was that I changed the name of my company file when I transferred it from my previous computer, and as a result, the loan manager file no longer works with the new company name, despite changing the name of it. From my research online, it seems as though you can't change the name of the loan manager file when you change the name of the main company file, and need to create a new loan manager file from the new company file.
