I am using 2019 QB Desktop for Macs. I have a business account that I get a monthly deposit into that is personal. I mark it as "owner's equity." On my chart of accounts I can see the total amount that is in the "owner's equity" account but I cannot find how to find the detail report ie I'd like to see a succinct listing of all the monthly deposits (with no extraneous info included). My accountant does not use mac and she said on her version she can just click the line and the detail opens up. That doesn't work on my desktop for mac.
The reason I want this report is I want to double check that indeed that is all personal money so then I can with confidence start withdrawing for personal use.
We can run a quick report of the Owner's Equity Account, mbirdthatflies.
This way, we can add or remove some data on the report. Let me guide you how:
If you want to save the same setting, you can memorize the report. Here's an article as your guide: Memorize reports.

I found this quick report of my owner's equity, and also the filter option for dates. But I only get a total, no itemization. I want to see all the deposits made. Can you help me find that?
That only gives me a quick report with a total. I need to see the monthly deposits into the account and can't find where to get that?
I know a report where you can view your account's item details, @mbirdthatflies.
You can use the Transactions List by Account report and filter it to show the equity accounts.
Here's how:
Here's how it looks like.

Keep me posted if you still have question or concerns with reports. I'm always here for you. Take care and have a great weekend.
I'm getting such great replies, and I am following all the steps, but unfortunately still only the total comes up. As you can see in this screenshot it says "total by". I can't find a way to get away from the total. I tried all the filters, options etc. I'll describe how I deposit it incase that is the problem (but I don't think so because I am seeing a total). I use the deposit icon and then "from account" I select owners equity. Help.
Thank you for getting back here, @mbirdthatflies.
I appreciate you performing the steps provided by my colleague. I can share additional steps so you can run a detailed report for your Owner's Equity account. You can run the Balance Sheet report. From there, double-click the amount in line with the Owner's Equity account and select QuickReport.

There is nothing clickable on the Balance Sheet. The link you sent is for 2021 version. I have 2019 version.
I appreciate you for sharing a screenshot, mbirdthatflies.
At this time, I recommend reaching out to our Phone Support team. Once of our agents can pull up your account to do an investigation about this matter.
Just a heads up, due to the pandemic, we have limited agents available. That said, it may take longer than the usual before someone can get in touch with you.
Here's how you can contact them:
I'm just around to help. Take care!
The issue is not resolved for me.
I had the exact same problem with the exact version of QB Desktop for mac.
Here's a work-around:
You will see the new equity account in the account list, it will have an associated register, and when you look at the balance sheet details report, it will have the itemized transactions.
This is an obvious bug in QB. For some reason, I think they created that Owner Equity account without a register by default.
Hope that helps.
Keep on book-keeping on.
James
