Manual Transaction Add

Back in June 2023, I had some issues setting up my payroll, which prevented me from accurately reconciling an account. I have traced back the missing transaction to a payroll transaction that might have been deleted. I have searched for the transaction but I cannot find it. Can I just manually add the transaction and how do I do this properly so I can maintain accurate records? Can I manually re-add this payroll transaction since I may have deleted it?

Manual Transaction Add

Hello, @tuckerkistner.

Allow me to share some insights about adding transactions manually in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

If you are adding transactions for recording purposes, you can consider creating a payroll journal entry. However, please know that the journal entry won't affect your payroll taxes and forms. You can refer to this article for the detailed steps: Manually enter payroll paychecks in QuickBooks Online.

However, I highly recommend contacting our Payroll Support team to correct your payroll transaction to ensure correct taxes and record payroll. After that, you’ll receive an email with instructions for the next steps. Here's how:

  1. In your QBO account, click on Help (?).
  2. In the Search tab, select Contact Us.
  3. Enter your concern, then select Let's talk.

Moreover, you might also want to check out this article to learn about what you and your accountant need to do in QBO to close out the previous year and prepare for the new one: Year-end guide for QuickBooks Online.
