I am trying to pull a P&L for one job that has more than one class on the invoice.
Example:
Customer = XYZ
Class = Bluff Project (customer)
Class + Truck 101 (equipment)
Class = Tractor 50 (equipment)
but....we are using certain equipment on the job that we are classing under the equipment on the invoice.
How do I get a P&L to report all income to include the equipment classes and the job. The job does not have equipment classed in hierarchy under it as we use the same equipment on multiple jobs.
Can this be done?
Hi Mesha,
I'm happy to help you out, what you'll want to do is run a custom P&L report and then edit its settings. Follow the steps below to do so.
There you can edit the report to Sort by Total and display all income, include the equipment classes and jobs under advanced settings.
If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out below.
Thank you for your time and have a lovely afternoon.
That pulls all the equipment usage, or none....the equipment is used in multiple classes and is a class itself....therefore I cannot just pull the "BLUFF" job and the equipment "Truck 101" as it will pull all work for that equipment, not just the specific "BLUFF" one.
Can that be filtered somehow to eliminate the ones outside the specific scope?
It certainly can, @Mesha!
I have the steps you'll need to filter the report.
With these steps, you'll be able to sort out the report to the specific class. You can learn more about customizing reports at this link here: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop.
We also have a guide on reports and accounting that I'm sure you'll find helpful. It has links to articles related to reports and accounting issues.
That'll do it. Please know that we're here if you have other questions or concerns, so don't hesitate to comment anytime. Thanks for reaching out and I wish you have a good day.
