I know it's crucial to ensure that these tax forms have been sent out correctly and received by the intended recipients, @charleston-fit4m. Allow me to share some insights about this matter.
Once the 1099 forms are filed, QuickBooks will send them to the contractors by mail and email. The physical copy will be postmarked to the address entered in the contractor's profile, and an email will be sent to the contractor when the form is ready for download to the email address recorded in their profile, which they can access through QuickBooks Self-Employed. Thus, it's necessary to ensure that the contractor's profile contains accurate and active information, including their exact address and email address.
As you mentioned, your contractors have not yet received the forms even though QuickBooks says that they were emailed, I recommend checking their spam or junk folder.
However, if they still haven't received it, you can contact our Customer Live Support team for further assistance. You can follow the steps below to reach them:
Moreover, if you want to download or print a physical copy of the filed forms, you may refer to this article for more details: Print your 1099 and 1096 forms.
Please know that I'll be a click away if you have other concerns about the 1099 form status or any QuickBooks-related questions you want us to answer. Take care and have a good day!
It turns out that though we all paid for physical copies to be mailed, they weren't actually sent when our statuses were changed to 'mailed'.
Apparently, they waited until the Jan 31st deadline (or after according to some of their support ppl) to actually send anything...maybe...I'll believe it when I stop getting contacted by my contractors asking where their forms are!
