New update to the invoice UI, it doesn't attach the customer, or the customers email. Is there a setting for this?

Hello Bella,

Thank you for posting here in the Community space. I'm here to help you fix issues with the new invoice UI in QuickBooks Online.

You should be able to attach a customer or include the customer's email in the upper part of the invoice transaction. Since you can't attach the necessary information and there are no settings, the browser's stored cache may be full.

It can cause unusual behavior in QuickBooks. I'd first suggest logging into your account using a private browser. It doesn't store data in the cache. Thus, it's a great way to isolate browser-related issues.

Use these keyboard shortcuts depending on the browser you're using:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift +N

If you can attach the customer or the email, let's switch back to the regular browser and clear its cache. It helps to restore the default setup of the browser. If private browsing doesn't work, use other supported web engines to get the best and most secure experience with the program.

Also, did you know you don’t need to be a designer to make eye-catching sales forms in QuickBooks? We have an article you can visit for tips and guidance with creating the templates: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Drop a comment anytime you have questions related to entering invoices or fixing unusual behaviors when using QuickBooks. We'll be sure to lend a hand. Have a great day.

Thanks for your reply AlcaeusF. This is for the quickbooks app. I can attach the customer and email to the invoice. Before the update it auto attached those if you clicked on send invoice on the customers page. Now after the update, it doesn't. The inconvenience is the email part. I don't have their emails memorized, so I have to save the invoice, back out to the customer page, copy the email and go back into the invoice. It's just a slight inconvenience thing.

I appreciate you for getting back to us, Bella.

I acknowledge the significance of the system auto-populating the customer's email address, as it helps you send an invoice without going through your customer's profile.

With that, I suggest sharing this incredible idea with our developer's team. They'll gather proposals from other customers who consider it an important feature. Here's how to send your suggestion:

  1. Log into your QuickBooks account through a web browser.
  2. Click the Gear icon.
  3. Under PROFILE, select Feedback.
  4. Type in a few words to narrate your proposal.
  5. Click Next.

For now, you may open your customer's profile and copy and paste their email address.

Furthermore, if you want to send online invoices where your customers can pay them online, you can check this article: Accept electronic customer payments for online invoices and in-person sales.

I've got your back whenever you have concerns in sending invoices.

Thank you for your reply. After I wrote my response, I forced stopped the app and cleared the cache and it auto populated the email to the customer on the invoice. I believe my issue is solved. If it does happen again I will do that. Thank you.
