Not able to correct the inventory as per physical verfication. The following error shown in QB stock - Please select a date that comes before any transactions that used

Are you on the Inventory Starting Value #START page and want to change the start value date? See the screenshot below for your visual reference.

If so, you'll get the error you've mentioned above when the date you enter is after the item was first used. To verify the date, let's go to your register and open the inventory asset-1 account. Then, look for the item where it was first used on your transaction.

Let me show you how:

1. Go to the Gear ⚙ icon at the right top, then select Chart of Accounts.
   
2. Open the Inventory Asset -1 account.
3. Sort the date to ascending order to see oldest transactions.
   
4. I'm using the Shrubs:Olympic Fire Mountain Laurel item.
   
5. Take note of the date.
6. Go back to the Inventory Starting Value #START page.
7. Enter a date on or after the original value and prior to one you see on your register.
   
8. If you want to use a date after the item was first used, then you need to delete the transaction. This is to get rid of the error.
