Options for Profit & loss Gone?

Is it just me or are some of the options for Profit & Loss reports gone? I was wanting to run a P&L comparison by quarter (in order to determine eligibility for PPP.2) but the P&L Comparison doesn't let you view columns by anything other than "Other" and the regular P&L doesn't let me add columns for prior year comparison. They used to be there, right? Why remove them?

Thanks for your reply but none of those options shows up in my client's report. I suspect it is because she still has the Simple Start version of QBO. I am going to mark this case resolved.

Options for Profit & loss Gone?

Let me provide some insights about running reports in QuickBooks, @ginatallmancpa.

If you want to access the P&L comparison by quarter report, you can filter the report period. Let me show you how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks account.
  2. From the left menu, select Reports.
  3. In the Find report by name field, search and select Profit and Loss Comparison report.
  4. Click the Customize button.
  5. Under the Report Period dropdown menu, choose This Quarter.
  6. In the Rows/Columns section, click the box next to the Previous year.
  7. Once done, click Run report.

For more information on how to add some filters to your report, please check out this article: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

Feel at ease to let me know if you have other QuickBooks concerns. I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Have a pleasant day.
