P and L sheet other income/expense field

on my P&L I have previous payments by credit card showing as other income/expense line. How can I fix this?

Hi, ruby30.

 

I can help you fix previous credit card payments appearing as other income/expense on your Profit and Loss (P&L) statement. Here's how:

 

  1. Click the reported amount for Other Expenses in the P&L report to see the list of transactions that contributed to it.
  2. Click each of the transactions.
  3. Change the expense account/category.
  4. Click Save & Close.

P and L sheet other income/expense field

Payments to a credit card should use a credit card type account set up on your chart of accounts to track the credit card activity, much like you track the activity for a bank account.  Then they won't appear on the P&L, and instead the charges in the CC account will appear.
