I've mastered the learning curve to move from QBD to QBO; but the reports are still very confusing. And some of my custom reports did not import into QBO.
So my question is: Is there a P & L Budget Performance report? Something that would show the monthly columns of actual, budget, % of budget AND the YTD columns of YTD actual, YTD budget, and YTD % AND finally the annual budget column?
It's great to hear you've mastered the learning curve after transitioning from QBDT to QBO, @jd76cliff. It's a pleasure to add some details below.
Please be aware that certain features and data, such as budget, custom, or memorized reports, don't transfer from QBDT to QBO due to different layouts and terminologies.
For more detailed info about how data moves from QBDT to QBO, please refer to this article: Features that move and don't move to QBO.
On the other hand, while the P&L Budget Performance report is unavailable in QBO, you can use the Budget Overview or Budget vs. Actuals report using QBO Plus or the Advanced version as an alternative. These reports contain the details you need and provide a high-level summary of the budget for the selected fiscal year.
Here's how to generate reports in QBO:
Additionally, you can personalize your reports in QBO and focus on the details that matter the most to your business.
Furthermore, you can check out this article to learn how to save the current customization settings of your report and use it for future needs: Memorize a report.
I'd be happy to help you further with importing data into QBO and generating budget-specific reports. Have a great day.
This is not nearly as helpful as the budget performance reports offered in QBDT. For example, I can't see the annual budget in it's own column when doing a last month report.
Viewing the Annual Budget column in Budget reports is a nice feature to add in QuickBooks Online, jd76cliff.
The Profit & Loss Budget Performance report that has an Annual Budget column is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Online. In the meantime, I recommend running Budget Overview and Budget vs. Actuals reports. Then, manually export them to Excel to combine the data.
Moreover, I understand the benefits of viewing the annual budget when running last month's report.
