P&L's Showing prior years in order as 2021, 2022, 2023 instead of 2023, 2022, 2021

I would like to run a P&L comparing years.  Right now I do not see a way to reverse years.  The standard report comes out the most recent year  to the oldest.  I want the reverse or oldest to newest.  Has anyone done this in the past.

I think I saw the solution before but can't find it now.

This is for QuickBooks Accountant Desktop 2021 which I will update soon.  I have multiple clients that I run financial statements and the desktop is easier and a lot cheaper than online for me.

THANKS for your help.   I will owe you one!   lol

I've never seen that happen.  When I run a P&L for multiple years the years are in order:

I tried all sorts of things to get the order to change, but it won't for me.

Are you starting with the "Profit & Loss Standard" report?

P&L's Showing prior years in order as 2021, 2022, 2023 instead of 2023, 2022, 2021

I must have worded my question wrong.  I realize that QuickBooks does the report in date order.  What I need is the P&L & Balance sheers in reverse order.  Like P&L 2023, P&L 2022, P&L 2021 on one report side by side.  Same thing for the balance sheets.
Does that make for sense?   Sorry for the confusion.

Actually 2023, 2022, 2021.  I didn't word it very well.  I know it reports in date order.  I need it to report in reverse order.  Not 2021, 2022, 2023.

Sorry for the confusion.  My Bad

We appreciate you getting back here in the thread, @beanktr7734.

Know that we recognize the importance of having the option to run Profit and Loss reports from 2023 to 2021 inside QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). Upon checking here, there isn't a way to see the report in reverse order. However, you can run a report from a different period and export it outside your company file. We'll write down the steps to get you going:

  1. Access your QuickBooks Desktop company.
  2. Go to the Reports menu, and choose Report center.
  3. Locate the report you want to access, and then filter the reporting period.
  4. Click the Print button, and then choose Save as PDF.
  5. Name the file, and then click the Save button.

You can convert the PDF file to Excel and then from there. Merge the three different reporting periods into one Profit and loss report.

Moreover, you can refer to these articles to help you manage add more details to your business report, and keep your current report settings for future use:

I was afraid of that but thank you for an alternative solution.
