Page (Print) Settings for Scheduled Reports

When initially setting up Scheduled Reports and applying page/print settings (specifically, print to one page wide), the PDF reports were emailed in this capacity. After initial setup, my user was used on additional computers and that is when we discovered the page/print settings were no longer preserved (and reports no longer were one page wide). We edited page/print settings on all computers and users and still cannot get the page settings to apply to Scheduled Reports. We have also tried editing the Scheduled Report schedule and creating new Scheduled Reports and cannot seem to get the page/print to one page wide setting to stick.

Are there any ways specifically to format the page/print settings for Scheduled Reports?

Hello again and thank you for sharing a screenshot, TheBrickChick.

I'll give steps where you can make the Fit report to page(s) wide option as default when you print your reports.

Here's how:

  1. In your QuickBooks Desktop program, go to File Printer Setup.
  2. Go to the Page Breaks section and make sure that you mark the Fit report to page(s) wide box.
  3. Click the OK button.

I've got this sample screenshot for a visual reference:

If you're still having the same issue after the steps above, then let's do the Verify and Rebuild Data. This identifies the most commonly known data issues within a company file and help you fix it.

You can check out the steps in this article: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop

Otherwise, reach out to our Customer Care Team. They have more tools to review what's causing this behavior.

Please take note that our support hours for QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Premier, and Plus starts from M-F 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. For QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise, we're available any time, any day.

Here's how:

  1. In your QuickBooks Desktop program, go to Help QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  2. In the Have a Question window, click the Contact Us link at the bottom.
  3. From the Contact Us page, select any topics.
  4. Under Here's how to connect with a QuickBooks expert section, click the Start a Message or Get Phone Number button.

Thanks for reaching out to us in the Community, TheBrickChick.

Let me share a solution to help you fix this.

Before doing so, please check the following:

Then, run the QuickBooks Print & Print Repair Tool from the QuickBooks Tool Hub. The QuickBooks Tool Hub helps fix common issues. You'll need to close QuickBooks to use the tool hub. For the best experience, we recommend you use Tool Hub on Windows 10, 64-bit.

Here's how:

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. Download the most recent version (1.5.0.0) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it (like your Downloads folder or your Windows desktop). Note: If you've installed Tool Hub before, you can find out which version you have. Select the Home tab. The version will be on the bottom.
  3. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  4. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  5. When the install finishes, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub. Note: If you can't find the icon, do a search in Windows for QuickBooks Tool Hub and select the program.

Once done, run the QuickBooks PDF & Print Repair Tool by following these steps:

  1. In the QuickBooks Tool Hub, select Program Problems.
  2. Select QuickBooks PDF & Print Repair Tool. It will take about a minute to run.
  3. Attempt to print the Scheduled Reports and check if the page/print to one page wide

If this doesn't fix the issue, check out the other solutions in this article: Troubleshoot PDF and Print problems with QuickBooks Desktop.

I'm also adding this link to learn more about the Scheduled Reports: Set up and modify Scheduled Reports

Please keep me posted on how it goes after trying out the steps. I'd be happy to help you out again. Take care and stay safe.

Installed the help program and ran the print and off diagnostic tool. Found no errors and still same issue.

The problem appears to be in the fact that we can't get the print to one page wide option permanently selected (whereas before we could), see attach screenshot. Any idea how to fix that?

Page (Print) Settings for Scheduled Reports

Worked!

While the settings are not retained on the print screen of a memorized report (and still require manual updating at each print prompt), the settings are in place when Scheduled Reports are being sent now (which is what we were wanting to achieve in this case). Excellent! 👍
