Payroll reports

Hi

I am having problems in my QB.  I use QB Desktop Pro 2019 version.. This week when I go in to process my payroll clients - I can print the checks no issue.   when I try and print a payroll summary - immediately crashes and wants the option to send the report or not.

Issue # 19883 35970.   It is doing it with all my companies I work with

Any ideas?

Yes, many people are suddenly seeing things like this. It does not appear to have anything to do with your company file. When a user sees this it happens in all their files. It seems to be related either to a QuickBooks change or a Windows change; It appears to be happening in multiple QuickBooks versions - all at once.

On several other threads, customers are posting that running QuickBooks with administrator privileges makes it work again.

To do this, right click the QB icon on your desktop (or start menu) and pick Run as administrator.

Hi KSbookkeeping,

Let me assist you in running and printing your payroll reports.

We'll encounter this error if there's an issue with your company file. We can fix this by rebuilding it. You can follow these steps:

  1. From the Window menu then Close All.
  2. Choose the File menu, then Utilities, and select Verify Data.
  3. Go back to the File menu, Utilities then Rebuild Data.

Here's the article for your reference: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop. Also, you can check this link for more details about QuickBooks Desktop crashes when exporting a report to Excel worksheet.

Comment again if you need anything else. Have a great day!

Hi

I tried rebuilding the Company.

It said it could not fix 1 error - Failed in loading ConFigEngine Bridge library.

Didn't fix the problem.

Welcome back, KSbookkeeping. Thank you for sharing the exact error you are receiving. This is very useful. There are two things I would love for us to do. First, let's try to run the repair tool for Quickbooks.

  1. Go ahead and back up your company file.
  2. Restart your computer to avoid other programs interrupting with the repair.
  3. Open the Windows Start menu and select Control Panel. You could also type it in the search engine on your PC.
  4. Go to Products and Features or Programs, then click Uninstall a Program.
  5. Locate and select Quickbooks, then Uninstall/Change.
  6. Click Continue or Next.
  7. Select Repair, then hit Next.
  8. Once completed, click Finish.

Once you have done these steps, I would like for you to run the QuickBooks Tool hub to start the PDF Print Repair tool. Here's how:

  1. Download the most recent version of the Quickbooks Tool Hub.
  2. Once this download (QuickBooksToolHub.exe), open the file to follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. On your Desktop, locate the hub and double click it or search for it in your Windows Start Menu.
  4. Once the programs open up, select the option Program Problems.
  5. In that list, choose QuickBooks PDF & Print Repair Tool.

From there, you are going to log back into your company to run the payroll summary report. If the problem persists, I suggest contacting our Support Team to check out a few things like the log files and so forth. They even have the tools to do a screen share to investigate the matter in detail.

I have added some articles that go into more detail about Quickbooks Repair and the PDF and Print troubleshoot solutions which I believe would be beneficial for you.

Please let me know how this goes. I'll be around. If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to @ me or reply below. Take care and enjoy your weekend.
