How can I permanently disable Modern View? Overall, it's just more hassle. One very obvious disadvantage is the wide, grey margins around the white working area. This makes a lot of text strings such as Description, Num, and other fields unreadable, because it overflows and is cut-off. Whereas, this would not be cut off in Classic View, as Classic View takes up the full width of the screen.
Please, I do not want to use Modern View, ever. How can we just disable it permanently?
Thank you.
You can't permanently disable the ridiculous modern view. QB can't let us have that much, if any control over our own companies, for their own selfish reasons.
Someone from QB should be along shortly to tell you to leave feedback. Just know that you CAN leave such feedback, but it won't do any good. They don't care what we all think or want.
I understand that you preferred to use the Classic view rather than the Modern view, @bookkeeper4life. Let me share some information about the matter.
Since December 11, 2023, all Simple Start and Essential users were moved to the new invoice experience automatically and there's no option for them to switch back to the old layout. However, if you're subscribed to Plus and Advanced, you still have the option to switch back and use the older version.
On the other hand, the option to disable the Modern view is currently unavailable in QuickBooks. Nevertheless, if you want this feature added to your plan, I recommend sending a feature request to our Product Development team to consider and add this for future updates.
You can follow the steps below for your reference:
You can track your feature request and view the new updates released in QuickBooks by visiting our Customer Feedback page.
Furthermore, you can access this article to know more about the changes in the invoices and estimates: See what’s new with estimates and invoices in QuickBooks Online.
You can always come back to this thread if you have other questions about the new invoice layout or any other concerns. We're here to address it and help you. Have a wonderful day!
Thank you. I have already sent several feature requests related to this and have not received a reply. How can I ensure my feedback was received, and when will I get a reply?
Hi bookkeeper4life,
I appreciate you for sending feature requests.
As of now, we're unable to provide as to when those proposals will be put into realization. Though you didn't receive a reply, rest assured our product engineers have read through all your feedback.
Moreover, any updates will be posted on our blog. You may check our website from time to time to learn the latest and updated features.
Furthermore, you can check this article as your guide to know the added features when creating estimates and invoices: We’re releasing a new estimate and invoice layout.
I'm always around whenever you have concerns about managing sales transactions.
We, the paying customers and users, do not want the modern view. We do not want to "be assured" that the software engineers/designers have read all our feedback. If they truly have read it all, they would know the paying customers do not like the changes and want the option of the more streamlined, efficient and better classic view.
There may be those who like the new modern view, but I have yet to hear from one.
Modern view is the WORST. Intuit needs to stop forcing ridiculous new enhancements like this on us.
Classic View is faster, more streamline, preserves screen space, and is frankly better.
Having endured this for several months along with all of you here, I've come to the conclusion that Intuit spent a whole bunch of money on the product and development teams who made this "Modern View" and they are fighting tooth and nail to justify their expenditure by forcing it on the customer. It's the only thing I can think of because, like you said, I have yet to encounter anyone who likes the Modern View.
Time to take this campaign to Twitter/X platform. Clearly the QuickBooks Intuit Support website doesn't accomplish anything. Intuit isn't listening to its customers!!!
FAILED leadership.
"Moreover, any updates will be posted on our blog. You may check our website from time to time to learn the latest and updated features."
Well, I'm not too sure how often that website is monitored for our feedback either since most of the posts are spam bots selling scams.
Meaningless
I'm sure we all received the notice today of the impending and irreversible, forced change of the invoicing view in the remaining versions of QBO.. I sent the following through their obviously ignored ",feedback" feature...
"I just got your notification of your forced and irreversible "new functionality" in QBO invoicing. Why? It's obvious when reading accountant's feedback in the QBO community forum that no one but the "QBO team" wants this. Key issues remain problematic. QBO still contains functions it should never have had and over the past year, QBO has slowed as your new functionality is apparently choking the primary reason people use it. QBO has lost ten years of progress for screen views that appeal to video gamers. This is beyond stupid."
In response to the overwhelming number of people that want to ditch Modern View as the default, QBO has decided to make that the only option by the end of 2024. It's apparent the "feedback" button goes to the dishwasher in the company cafeteria and not to the developers. Does anyone have a line on another accounting program created by accountants and not "gamers"?
Seriously? The feedback is ignored and the intent is to make modern view the only view by the end of 2024. The "team" at QBO forgets who actually is responsible for most of the subscriptions in QBO and have all but ignored us. Have you read the numerous posts of people already looking for a replacement for QBO? I'm disgusted with the blind attitude involving the trash changes in QBO over the past year.
Yes, we are deciding between Wave and TaxDome. Have you found what you'll be switching to?
I've seen people on here suggesting Wave, but we recently discovered TaxDome as well. We're deciding while we get our books cleaned up so it will be a smooth transition. A\What about you, have you found any other good options?
So now that we have been informed that after "thousands" of customer responses we are supposed to be exited about the death of Classic View. If we are able to customize our reports, anyone know how we can customize to have a Classic View? Worse part is they will do this just at the time of year we are WAY too busy with year end to have to deal with new reporting.
