Printing batch invoices

Every time I print a batch of invoices for a customer, it goes to a print file in my download folder.  I can open it with Adobe Acrobat Reader and rename as a PDF file.  It used to just create a PDF file and I can just rename it.

Also, none of my invoices are printing instead they automatically create a PDF file in my download folder.

What am I doing wrong here?

Thank you for getting back to us here on the Community page, @-Alex.

I'm here to share with you the steps on how to achieve this on the Firefox browser.

Usually, this happens when the PDF and Portable Document Format is not set up to Preview in Firefox. For now, you have to change the settings from the Applications section.

Here's how:

  1. From your Firefox browser, go to the hamburger icon or three horizontal lines at the upper-right corner of the page.
  2. Select Options.
  3. Scroll down to the Applications section, then select Preview in Firefox from the drop-down.

Once completed, you'll be able to print your invoices seamlessly.

As always, feel free to read the details from this link to learn more about printing invoices in QuickBooks Online: How to email or print an invoice.

Also, feel free to read the topics from our help articles in case you need references while working with QuickBooks in the future.

Printing batch invoices

Hi there, @-Alex.

The browser's settings may be set to download PDF first. Let's change the settings when downloading PDF documents.

Here's how:

  1. In the top right of the browser click the three little horizontal lines to open a drop-down menu.
  2. Click Settings at the bottom.
  3. In the settings menu, go to the bottom of the page and click Advanced settings.
  4. Go the Privacy and Security section and click Site settings. Then at the bottom, click PDF documents.
  5. In PDF documents you’ll want to disable Download PDF files instead of automatically opening them in Chrome.

You may also want to learn how you can email invoices: Email or print multiple invoices and sales forms.

Looking forward to your response regarding your invoices. I'll be here to help.

@MaryAnn_E,

I'm using Firefox as a browser.  I will look for that same option and see if it works.

Thank you!

@Angelyn_T  - that worked!  Thank you!  It now says Open in Firefox instead of Preview.
