The short story:
I used QBD for 20 years and then switched to QBO and it was a NIGHTMARE! Lots of problems so I switched back to the Desktop version only to find different problems with my business file.
One issue I have is that when I went to reconcile a recent month in my credit card, I found the last TWENTY YEARS of transactions in the list of transactions to be reconciled and the same is true for my bank accounts! Before I switched to the online version of QB, my file and my data was up-to-date and now this!
How do I clear these transactions from the lists in the reconciliation page? The accounts appear to be reconciliated but all the transactions are in the lists in the reconciliation page and are 'checked' so I'm afraid if I 'uncheck' them, then none of my last 20 years of data will be reconciliated!
Has this happened to anyone else here? If so,

Hopefully you still have your last backup file as an archive. After you convert your data back to QB Desktop, run Condense Data utility to delete all transactions until you convert to QBO last time.
My files were up to date when I switched to QBO and then my bookkeeper and accountant completed 2020 info on QBO so the QBD backup from before the switch is only up to date up to mid 2020. The file that I moved from QBO to QBD seems to have the up-to-date data, but it also has all of the unreconciliated transactions that I mentioned in my initial post.
Where do I find the Condense Data utility and what exactly will that do?

Thanks Fiat Lux-ASIA. I did read through that and condensing my data isn't what I need to do.
Thanks anyway!
