Buy nowHas QBO implemented the ability to associate multiple transactions by customer with a single project? I'm using projects and occasionally need to issue an invoice to a customer within the project (a project sponsor, for example). Since I have to select the Project as the Customer, I've been putting the actual customer name in the Bill To field. This works for tracking within the project but I won't see the transaction under the Customer activity.
Is there any way to have Project-related transactions appear in a Customer's activity? I don't want to make the customer a sub-customer for project purposes, because the same customer might very well decide to sponsor other Projects in future.

While I understand the answer I don't have much hope the feature will be added. But once in a while QuickBooks implements a new feature that is actually helpful. While this doesn't help my question here, I wanted to call out the improvement.
I don't know when this was added but I just noticed that now, when looking at a customer's profile, there is the option to show "All Transactions Plus Deposits." Now I can easily see a customer's history for all transactions, not just those involving an invoice or pledge. For a nonprofit organization this has been a critical need to see a customer's history of unsolicited donations. So thank you.
Having the option to link additional customers, such as a sponsor, to a single project is indeed a great idea, Aco. It would ensure that transactions related to the project also appear in the sponsor's activity page.
Project-related transactions will only appear on the activity page of the customer you selected when creating the project.
QuickBooks Online doesn't have the option to associate multiple transactions by customer with a single project. However, I acknowledge the value of this functionality in managing sponsors and customer relationships more effectively. I encourage you to share this idea directly with our product engineers.
Here's a sample screenshot showing how you can send your feedback within the Projects page.
I also want to acknowledge your resourcefulness in using the Bill To field on the Invoice page to include the sponsor's name. It's a practical workaround for ensuring proper tracking within the project.
