Purchase Order Reports

I opened report Open Purchase orders and added the column for Item but it shows empty?  I don't understand if there is an item line on PO why the report shows an empty Item column?

Is there an easy way to bring up Open PO's for a particular item?

Purchase Order Reports

Yes, there is, Thea. I’m glad to show how to bring up open purchase orders for a particular item in QuickBooks.

In QuickBooks Desktop, there are built-in Purchase Orders reports that show both general summaries and more detailed information.

The Open Purchase Orders report shows you a list of your PO transactions and not by item. Since you’d like to bring up open purchase orders for a particular item, you’ll want to run the Open Purchase Orders Detail report instead.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Choose Purchases, then select Open Purchase Orders Detail.
  3. Click the Customize Reports button.
  4. Filter the date.
  5. In the Columns section, select Item.
  6. Press OK after.

I’ve attached a reference in case you want to keep the same report settings for future use: Create, access and modify memorized reports. It helps you access the information quickly to save time.

Please don’t hesitate to add a comment if you have any other concerns or questions about reports. I’d be more than happy to help you. Take care always!
