QBAR Crash

Try to run the Verify/Rebuild Data utility. If no error found, try to run the Condense Data utility to make sure.

QBAR Crash

That got left off the list. I've verified/ rebuilt the data and ran the file doctor. No issues were found.

However, I have not done the Condense Data Utility - stay tuned.

QBAR Crash

I've got some information and steps to help you resolve an error message, @Gambit.

When performing one of the following actions in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), the program may crash with or without an error message:

  • Emailing a large report
  • Working randomly on transactions, such as Invoices and Sales Orders
  • Running many reports side by side
  • Working in different Centers
  • Working in the Report Center

The errors you may encounter include:

  • QuickBooks (QB) has stopped working
  • No error (QB just disappears while working)
  • Unrecoverable Error (random codes)

Problems in QBDT can originate from the computer or its interaction with the system. To ensure optimal performance, regularly update your QBDT to the latest version.

If you continue to experience these issues on the latest release, sign up here to be notified when we have an update for the article.

Before starting any troubleshooting, it's recommended to create a backup of the company file. After that, you can proceed with the steps. Here's how:

To begin, you can open QB with all windows closed.

  1. Open QBDT.
  2. Choose your company file in No Company Open.
  3. Until the file opens, press and hold ALT on your keyboard and then click Open
  4. If QB asks you to sign in, release ALT and enter your password. Press and hold ALT again and hit OK.

Next, you can open your company file using a different QB user.

  1. Open the Company menu, click Set Up Users and Passwords, and then choose Set Up Users. If you're an Enterprise user, you can go to the Company menu, click Users, and then select Set Up Users and Roles.
  2. Click Add user…, enter a working username and password, then choose Next.
  3. Personalize the user as required and then hit Finish.
  4. Head to File, then select Close Company/Logoff.
  5. Use the new login credentials to sign in.

If the new user functions well, you can delete the user you're having issues with and recreate them. However, if it won't work, you can proceed to the next steps using this article as a guide: Troubleshoot Unrecoverable Error XXXXX XXXXX.

Additionally, you can condense your data to streamline your company file. You can check out this article to know more about the process and its limitations: Use the Condense Data utility.

Moreover, you can contact the Intuit Developers regarding the integration with the third-party app Qlik.

I'm still available to back you up if you need further assistance settling an error message. Just hit the Reply button.

QBAR Crash

Condense Data reduced my company file from 1.1GB to 389MB...so that's good. However, it did not fix Advanced Reporting. "Sorry, Advanced Reporting couldn't update your report. Please try again"

Next suggestion?

Can a company file be too big for Advanced Reporting?

Additionally - when I skip QB's request to update any transactions, I get this crash error message when trying to run a report.

QBAR Crash

It can be extremely challenging when we encounter different errors when managing our reports in QuickBooks Advanced Reporting (QBAR), @Gambit. Also, I sincerely appreciate you performing the troubleshooting steps.

Since you've performed some troubleshooting steps, we can also fix the error by updating QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise to the latest version. And, seeing as you've already updated the application, here's what we need to do:

  1. Remove any parentheses, brackets, or apostrophes in the company file path or file name by renaming folders or files.
  2. Re-open the company file and run Advanced Reporting.
  3. Change the date to follow the standard format: MM/DD/YYYY.
  4. Make sure that QVConnect32.exe isn't blocked by your antivirus program. If it is, we'll need to add an exception for the QlikView connector in the AVP's real-time scan. QVConnect32.exe file location:
  • Windows 10 and newer: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache\QVConnect\11.20.12235.0

Please note that the mentioned steps depend on the Anti-virus program you use, so make sure to go to the anti-virus program support site for detailed instructions.

If the issue persists, I recommend uninstalling and reinstalling QBAR. Doing so helps the application and device to start with a clean slate.

In regard to the company file being too big for Advanced Reporting, yes it is a possibility. Large company files could potentially impact QBAR's performance. QuickBooks' performance decreases as the size of the company file increases.

Here's an article for more details: Install and use QuickBooks Advanced Reporting

Let me know if you have more questions. I'll circle back to assist you. Stay safe!

QBAR Crash

@Gambit

Try to run the Verify/Rebuild Data utility again. If no errors are found, it looks like there is a bug in QBAR 2024. You should consider having a BI application as a workaround.

Verify/ Rebuild Data utility came back with no found issues. Reminder - it appears to be an isolated issue with this particular company file because QBAR works on 3 other company files.

What's a BI application and can you recommend any options?

@Gambit

You can check this BI app to integrate with QB Desktop or QB Online.

I would also suggest you chat with Support and ask them to check your company file. Another option, you can ask a third-party service provider to check it and get a second opinion.
