QBO Reports Project Status

Hello

Within QBO reporting how do I create a report which only lists In Progress projects?

Basically, I'm looking to generate a list of only In Progress projects.

I cannot identify a field which carries the project status.

Thanks.

QBO Reports Project Status

Hello, JLI55.

I'm happy to show you a guide on how to get a list of In-progress projects.

The project status is only carried within the Projects page itself. One way to generate a list of in-progress projects is to filter the overview page. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Projects page.
  2. On the first drop-down menu, select In-progress.
  3. If you need an easier view, click the Print list button.
  4. Save it as a PDF.

QBO Reports Project Status

Close, but no.

I'm looking for either, a report or method of exporting QBO data with field flagging project status.

Thanks.

QBO Reports Project Status

Hello there, JLI55.

I'll be glad to help you with the report that you're looking for.

You can run a profitability report per project if you need a report that identifies a field that carries the project status.

Here's how you can run a profitability report:

  1. Go to Reports.
  2. Select Jobs, Time, and Mileage and choose Job Profitability Summary.
  3. Click on Customize Report.
  4. Choose the Filters tab.
  5. Enter Job Status in the Search field and in the Job Status drop-down, choose In progress.
  6. Click OK.

See this as a reference on how to track income, costs, and profitability by project.

Don't hesitate to comment anytime if you have follow-up questions. Have a great day!

QBO Reports Project Status

Hi

Thanks for the response.

I'm not seeing Jobs under the Reports menu.

Please note, I'm using Quickbooks Online.

QBO Reports Project Status

Thanks for getting back to us, @JLI55.

Let me share some information about exporting a project report that has a status field. While this report is unavailable in QBO, you'll want to follow the workaround provided by my peer @jamespaul. The above steps are about saving the project list in PDF format. You'll have to copy the project list and paste it on your Excel; so you can manage the list in your spreadsheet.

Here's how:

  1. Following steps 1-3 above, from the Print list button hit Cancel.
  2. On your keyboard, press CTRL+A, and then CTRL+C to copy.
  3. Open an Excel spreadsheet, then press CTRL+V to paste.
  4. From there, you can arrange the columns and rows of the project list.

Here's how it looks like.

With the above steps you're able to export the report with the project status.

I'm also attaching this link here in case you need help with other tasks in QBO. Feel free to browse for topics that suit your concern.

Please know that you're welcome to reply to me anytime if you still have questions or concerns with projects or reports. I'm always here for you. Take care and have a wonderful day ahead.

@JLI55

As another option, consider having a project management app to integrate with your QBO.
