Join nowWhen I convert an estimate to an invoice, the estimate will only not show as "open" if the invoice is billed out 100%. There are times when we do not bill out 100% so is there a way to correct this so the estimate will not show as opened?
Automatically closing the estimates is a great functionality, MAUL21.
QuickBooks will only recognize estimates as closed if you've linked them to invoices. Since the option is unavailable, I'd recommend manually closing the estimates.

Additionally, you can easily track all the outstanding estimates that your company has for all your customers. To do this, I'd suggest pulling up the Estimates by Customer report:

I understand the process but its not perfect. The only way that a an estimate that is linked to an invoice closes is if you bill it out 100%. If you don't then it stays open which doesn't give you a true forecasting model of potential work coming down the road.
