Quickbooks for Mac does not save reconcilations

Hello,

I have started a new Quickbooks file this year and for some reason reconciliations for one of my credit cards is not being saved. After I reconcile and close QB and re-open and none of the transactions are reconciled and I have to start over. I have tried this multiple times. My checkbook reconciles fine.

Before I delete this credit card account and start over I was wondering if anyone has heard of something like this before. Rebuild and Verify come back with no errors.

I am running QB 2020 for Mac. All my software is up to date.

Thanks.

Quickbooks for Mac does not save reconcilations

We appreciate your posting your concern here in the Community space, @ovtnvw. Let us give you insights about reconciliation not being saved in your Quickbooks Desktop for Mac (QBDT).

To begin with, I'd like to let you know that we haven't received any similar reports of issues with reconciling in QBDT Mac, but we're here to help you get through this.

Since you are facing an issue where reconciliation is unsaved in QBDT for Mac, there could be various reasons for it. One common reason could be discrepancies in your QBDT account, such as incorrect opening or closing balances, or modified or deleted reconciled transactions. To avoid these discrepancies and be able to save your reconciliation, it is essential to ensure that your QBDT account is error-free.

Therefore, to avoid such discrepancies and successfully save your reconciliation progress, check if you have the correct reconciliation details. Since your progress didn't save, I recommend starting the reconciliation process again and double-checking that you have all the correct details to avoid future issues.

Moreover, you may also check this link as your future guide when handling issues during reconciling your account in QBDT: Fix issues when you're reconciling in QuickBooks Desktop.

Let me know if you have further questions about reconciling an account in QBDT. I'm always here to assist. Keep safe.

@ovtnvw

Run the Verify/Rebuild Data utility. Did you encounter any error message?

I am having this exact same issue with Quick books online. Transactions from 11/2023 specifically will not save when I'm reconciling. Have tried re-saving the transactions to no avail.

Thanks for getting back to me on this.

There is nothing I can see that might be causing this. This year I started a new QB file. I set my opening balance for the credit card to be the closing balance from my last statement. My statement date was mid January so I included transactions from December so that I could reconcile the account.

Today I created a new credit card account and entered the transactions for Dec through mid Jan then reconciled. When I re-opened QB the reconciliation was not remembered. The transactions were there, just not cleared.

Can you think of any other reason why this might happen. It has to be something with this account, I am just not sure what.

@ 4Gal - Verify and Rebuild were successful with out error.
