Quickbooks Payroll and reporting on P and L

I have quickbooks online and run my payroll through quickbooks payroll service. I just realized today when running a P and L for last week that both gross and net payroll show up. Gross automatically shows up. So it the only solution to NOT clear the nets coming in? That adds a very time consuming equation into the picture if thats the case. Im hoping there is a way to turn off auto add in payroll settings or something. Can some one please help me?

Quickbooks Payroll and reporting on P and L

Hi there, @l3en007

Happy to offer assistance on how you can simplify your Profit and Loss report.

If you want to see specific accounts on the report, filter them to show the net payroll by manually using the Customize option in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Here's how:

  1. In the left menu, click Reports.
  2. Under Business overview, select Profit and Loss.
  3. Tap Customize.
  4. Go to the Filter section, select Distribution Account.
  5. Choose an account that you wanted to display on your report.
  6. Click Run report.

From there, the data will show only the specific accounts you've chosen.

You might want to save the customized Profit and Loss report so you don't need to filter it all over again. Just click the Save customization button at the upper-right. For more details on how to manage your reports, you can click this article: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

You can always count on me if you have further questions in running reports in QBO. I'm here to help you out.
