Buy nowWarm greetings, chefc. I see the benefits of having the ability to include a gratuity as an option in your invoices.
Please know that there's no direct way to add an option for gratuity in your invoices in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
Alternatively, you can record or add the gratuity as a product or service line item in an invoice.
If you already created the invoice and received a gratuity, you can edit the transaction and add it as a line item. Here's how:
Meanwhile, if you need to record a new invoice transaction with the gratuity and the product or service item, you can follow the steps below:

Thank you, ShyMae. We are aware of being able to add a gratuity on our end but, since we don't know up front what customers want to gratuitize, it's not so helpful.
Perhaps you can get a request to the back end team to add a gratuity add on option on the customer facing side of invoices. Would be super helpful.

Thanks for getting back to this thread, chefcmac.
I understand the importance and the efficiency of directly accessing the gratuity. However, direct access or direct use of gratuity is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Self-Employed. As a result, I recommend sending your feedback to QuickBooks so that our developer may analyze and include your suggestions in future releases. We appreciate your understanding and thank you for helping us improve our services.

This is where you suggested I go and this is what it says. What a mess...
