When pulling a report and filtering down between dates, let's say 1/1/23 - 6/30/23, how does anyone know what data QB's is using to filter between those dates??? Is it looking at an estimate date, start date, closed date?
For example the WIP report using an end date of 6/31. It's pulling all projects marked "active" by an estimate date or the start date?
Job Profitability Report - same question. What date is QB's looking at to determine what hits the report?
Hello there, Gambit. I can provide some insights about the posting date for your job profitability and work-in-progress reports in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
The work-in-progress report utilizes the transaction date of your estimates. You can see this screenshot for your visual reference.
On the other hand, the Job Profitability report uses the date of your posting transaction or when the estimate gets converted into an invoice.
If you'd like to see all the estimate entries recorded by jobs or customers, you may consider checking out the Estimates by Job report.
