Report for In Stock Inventory items that have ZERO Sales over long time period. QBE

I am looking to create a report to look at items that are in stock, but have sold ZERO items during the time period I have selected, generally 6-12 months.  Obviously want to determine why I have stock on something that is not selling.

There is a report in Enterprise called INVENTORY STOCK STATUS by ITEM

 - Hide Zero QOH (check this box)

You should be able to look at the column SALES/WEEK and any items that are ZERO should give you this figure.  However, MANY of the items that show as Zero Sales/Week still actually have some sales during that time period. (which make no sense other than they are rounding down to zero anything less than .1)

Does anyone have a better way to look at this or run a report for this specific purpose?

Report for In Stock Inventory items that have ZERO Sales over long time period. QBE

Hi there, cwh9672.

I'm here to share some information about how Inventory Stocks by Stock Status by Item report populates data.

Currently, this will report will round down the sales that are less than 0.1 to zero (0). When this happens, you can double-click the zero amount to verify if there's a sales activity that occurs during that time. Here's how to do it:

  1. Select Reports from the top menu bar.
  2. Go to the Inventory section.
  3. Choose Inventory Stocks by Stock Status by Item.
  4. Set the appropriate reporting date, then tick the Hide Zero QOH checkbox.
  5. Double-click the zero amount to view its related transactions.

You may also memorize this report to save its current customization settings. Additionally, I've included an article that you can read to help streamline the reporting process in QuickBooks Desktop: Customize reports.

Feel welcome to reach out to me again with any questions or concerns you may have. I would be more than happy to help you again.

Yes that is obvious and what I posted.

Do you have a way to create a report that is able to show this better, without having to drill down EVERY item to look at actual sales?

I have roughly 3000-4000 products, I am certain I am on the smaller end of the spectrum when it comes to these things.

Thanks for getting back here, @cwh9672.

At this time, you may follow the recommended steps outlined by my colleague above. I can see the importance of having an option to customize this report to show those items that are with zero sales. So I’ll take note of this and send feedback to our Product Development team. Rest assured that we are bound to help you with everything we can.
