Report that will show transfers from one account to another

Here is what I'm hoping to accomplish. I have several bank accounts. In the main "Operations" bank account I pay bills, and transfer money to several other accounts. Any report that I run, the other accounts, of course, show up under "split". What I would like to be able to do is run a report that shows the transfers from my Operations account to split accounts, but somehow filter by the split account. At the end of the month, I need to show how much was transferred into each account for a report that I need to present. Right now, I either run a general ledger account and have to manually look at the split accounts and add them. Or I run a find report for transfers and it does the same thing. Is there any way to run either of these and make it so I can run it for whichever split account I want?

I've got your back, @KJOHNSTON0312.

I appreciate the workarounds you performed to open reports showing transfers from one account to another. However, I'm sharing an alternative method that can be helpful.

You can pull up the Transaction Detail Report, which shows the transfers between two accounts and can include the split detail. However, you'll need to manually add the amounts for each split account. I can guide you through the process.

  1. Go to Reports, then Custom Reports.
  2. Open Transaction Detail.
  3. Select Customize Report.
  4. Filter the Transaction Type by Transfer.
  5. Choose Multiple accounts under the Account dropdown, select the accounts, then click OK.

You can also export the report to Excel, allowing you to customize it further and display essential details.

In QuickBooks Desktop, you can personalize any report that you generate. For guidance, check out this article: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop.

Please let me know if you need further help regarding the report. I'm always here to help in any way I can. Stay safe!

Thank you. Yes, I know how to do that report, however, it doesn't meet the need of being able to have two accounts on the report. 1 - the account from which the transfers are made, and 2 - the account to which the transfer is going to. As there are transfers to multiple accounts from the original account, it simply shows all transfers. I want to be able to filter the transfers to a particular account. I see now that Quickbooks is not capable of this report.

Report that will show transfers from one account to another

Hello there, @KJOHNSTON0312.

I can see how the ability to generate reports with all of your desired information allows you to review your data efficiently. However, showing your preferred details for transfer entries with the two involved accounts is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Desktop.

Therefore, I recommend sending feedback directly to our product engineers. They can integrate your comments when working with future updates to ensure the product meets your business needs.

Here's how:

  1. Proceed to the Help option.
  2. Select Send Feedback Online.
  3. Click the Product Suggestion option.
  4. Enter your suggestion when the pop-up window displays.
  5. Select the Send Feedback button.

On the other hand, you can check this article for guidance if you want to save reports with the same modification settings for future use: Create, access, and modify memorized reports.

Please don't hesitate to add a comment in this thread if you have additional questions about the different reports or other related concerns in QuickBooks Desktop. We're always here to lend a hand.
