Understandably QB is not a CRM but has some invoicing to reporting uses. I was wondering if anyone knows a way to get a report of transactions WITH customer information, specifically the customer phone numbers? The current transaction report lists some information and even includes the email address but not the phone number or mobile phone number fields. Does anyone know a custom report or workaround?
Welcome to the Community, @VentPrevent.
I'm here to help you determine what report to pull up that has your customer’s transactions with customer information specifically their respective phone numbers.
Before starting with the report, it's vital to ensure that the customer's phone numbers are added to the detail panel. You have two options to do that. You can enter their phone number in the billing section or include it directly in the other sales information if you want it to appear in a single transaction only.
Once done, we can pull up a Transaction List by Customer. It’s a report that has your customer’s transactions with their respective information. With that, we can also customize the report on what specific details it provides.
Here’s how:
Refer to this article for more details when personalizing your reports in QBO: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

Feel free to comment below if you have other concerns with generating reports in QBO. I’m just a post away.
I do not have a Transaction List by Customer report in my available reports. I have run similar reports like Transaction List by Tag Group but that also did not give an option to list mobile phone number/phone number and no way to add it. The fields are in customer profiles but no option is given to add that field.
Hello, @VentPrevent. I'm here to help you access the Transaction List by Customer report in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
This report is only available to QBO Essentials, Plus, and Advanced users. If you're using Simple Start, I suggest you consider upgrading your subscription to use this report.
However, if you're already using an eligible subscription and can't find the report, a cache-related issue might be causing the problem. In that case, let's perform some troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue.
To begin with, you can use a private or incognito window in your browser to rule out any cache-related problems. Here are the shortcut keys:
Once you open a private window, log in to your QBO account and look for the report. If it works, you can clear your browser's cache to remove any webpage data causing the issue. If a private window doesn't work, you can use other installed supported browsers as another option.
Just in case you want to customize reports and focus on the details that matter to you, you can check out this article for guidance: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online. Moreover, you can refer to this article to save the report's current customization settings: Memorize reports in QuickBooks Online.

I upgraded to gain access to this report but still this report does NOT have access to a phone number or mobile phone number field that I can add to this report.
It seems that the only report with phone number/mobile number is the customer list but that does not have transactions. These numbers are a vital piece of information when looking at customers and their sales. Is their a solution or workaround?
We appreciate you for upgrading your subscription, @VentPrevent.
Currently, running a report that will show the customer's mobile number and email together with their transactions is unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO). As a workaround, we can still run the Transaction List by Customer report and export it as an Excel, then edit it up.
Here's how:
In the meantime, you can submit direct feedback to our Product Development Team to request how beneficial it would be to have a report that will show the customer details together with their transactions. They might add this to our future product updates.

So, you advise me that the report that does this (And list how to make sure the phone number is available) is not in my subscription and then when I upgrade then you tell me it's not available? That is unethical and called "bait and switch".
I have had this EXACT complaint with QBO for 6 years since switching from Desktop. Their reports are trash as far as customizations, and 6 years of complaints from me have rendered ZERO change for THIS specific problem. Here is MY workaround:
1). Export two reports into excel: ONE for the list of transactions (that we wish included a phone number), and the OTHER one for the Customer Contact List --> with the names in column A, and the phone numbers in column B.
2). Put BOTH spreadsheets in ONE workbook.
3). Insert a blank column B (where phone numbers will go) in the TRANSACTIONS spreadsheet
4). Use the following formula in the first cell adjacent to the customer's name: =VLOOKUP(A2, Sheet1!A:B, 2, FALSE)
5). ADJUST the "A2" in the formula to be the cell number where the list of customer's names ACTUALLY BEGINS (mine was "A6").
6). Drag that &*#$ formula down the list and rejoice, my friend.
I canNOT tell you how excited I was when I (literally FIVE minutes ago) figured this out thanks to some awesome people at Microsoft posting in a forum about Excel spreadsheets. I came across this while searching for a solution, and I figured I would plop a reply quick. I hope this is as helpful to you as it has been for me!
