I am thinking of buying the Quickbooks desktop 2023 for Mac, but i have one question.

Can I design my own profit & loss/balance sheet report like I can do with my invoice/estimate etc.?

Please can someone answer this question?

Hi there, Leo.

Currently, the option to customize your report template the same as what you can do with your sales transactions is unavailable in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Mac. Rather, we can personalize this by adding filters and columns.

  1. Go to the Reports menu and select Report Center. Use the filtersdate ranges, and other features to customize the data on the report so you see what is most important to you from the customize panel.
  2. Or, click the Customize button in the upper right of the window.

Once you have the data you need from the report, we can start exporting this into an Excel file to customize further according to what form of report you prefer:

  1. Open the report you want to customize.
  2. Click the Export to Excel button at the top of the report window.
  3. QuickBooks opens a copy of the report in Excel, preserving as much as possible the fonts and colors you set in the original report.
  4. You can then use formatting and data analysis features to further customize the report.
  5. When the file opens, choose File. Then, Save As to save the file where you want it.

Other than that, you can also consider utilizing a third-party application that can assess you by personalizing your report to match your preferences and business needs.

Moreover, I recognize the importance of this functionality to customize your report templates within the application easily. With that being said, I suggest you send this suggestion to our product development team, doing so will enable us to comprehend what features business owners demand to use the product conveniently.

  1. Choose QuickBooks, then Preferences.
  2. On the Preferences pane, select Feedback.
  3. Click the Enable sending usage data to Intuit check box. The preference is enabled by default.
  4. Close the Preferences window.

Additionally, I'll share the following article with you so you can learn how to save the current report customization settings in QBDT for Mac. Please refer to the Memorize a Customized Report section in this article: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.

@Leo Werleman

You should install the trial version to make sure. Keep in mind, they will release QBD 2024 next month with a higher price.
