Revenue for a "project". If I post a check as a "sales receipt", I capture the customer info but cant tag it to project. Add to project gives no customer record.

If you created a Project (Plus version) it will fall below the Customer Name. Open the Sales Receipt and go to the Customer Name and arrow down and select the Project that falls below the Name, then save and close. You can select a Project in any transaction in QuickBooks Online Plus if you have turned on "Projects" within the Advanced Company Settings.

For us, a single project has multiple customers so this option doesn't work :( Should we be using tags instead of projects? Can reports be filtered by tags?

Hi there, DunedinMusicSociety.

While we can only assign one customer per project, you'll want to use the Tags or Class and Location tracking features. These preferences can help you categorize transactions by department or any other meaningful segments in your business. We also have available reports that you can group according to these features (Tags, Class, or Location). To know more about how they work, you can click the links below:

For the reports, you can pull up a specific report your want to run and then customize it further.

Please let me know if you have other questions. I'm just around to help. Take care!

Thank you!

I think tags will work wonders. We already use classes for each of our groups, but were having a hard time identifying income & expenses for each event each group does. We're reserving locations for our physical spaces.

Tags. Lifesaver. Cheers :)
