Sales by Item Summary - Cost of Goods Report

Hi,

We switched over from Quickbooks Desktop to Quickbooks Online not too long ago. In Quickbooks Online I was trying to find a report that matched one from the desktop version "Sales by Item Summary" which can a list of the products and services with the quantity sold, the amount made from it, the cost of the good sold, and finally the "Gross Margin" or profit we made. We use this report to calculate commission based off the profit made from each item and add a filter of sales rep as well as only A/R paid.

Is there anything like this on Online? Its a very important report that we need to run for proper payroll. Is there anyway to create a custom report ourselves if not?

I appreciate you for switching to QuickBooks Online (QBO) to manage your inventories. I'll help you find a report that shows the information you want to gather.

 

We can run the Sales by Product/Service Summary report. This report displays the total sales for each product and service. It also includes the quantity, amount, % of sales, average price, cost of goods sold, and Gross Margin.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Reports menu. 
  2. In the search field, you can enter and click on Sales by Product/Service Summary.
  3. Select the date range from the Report period.
  4. Choose the Accounting Method.
  5. Click Run report.

Sales by Item Summary - Cost of Goods Report

Hello, when I run that report it looks like this for my headers.

Also I didn't see a way to filter out A/R paid statuses on the customize.
