Paying sales tax in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Mac should be done through the Pay Sales Tax window. Since you've paid it through the Sales Tax Liability window, I recommend adjusting your sales tax amount to correct it. I'll show you how.
- Go to the Vendors menu.
- Select Sales Tax and click Sales Tax Adjustment.
- Fill out the Sales Tax Adjustment info.
- Click OK.

Moving forward, you'll want to pay your sales tax through the Pay Sales Tax window to steer away from any confusion. Furthermore, I recommend working with your accountant for other ways in handling this situation. This way, we can ensure your accounts are well accounted for.
I'll be around whenever you have other questions or concerns with your sales tax or QBDT. Just add them in your reply, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Keep safe and enjoy the weekend!
